Aftercad Software Announces Live Launch of Ground Breaking Zoomthere.com Mobile WebApp Service for Smartphones.

August 26th, 2010

VANCOUVER, BC – Aug26th, 2010 – Aftercad Software is pleased to announce the official launch of its Zoomthere.com Mobile Web Application service for the publishing of high quality mobile sites and web applications for iPhone, Android, Nokia and Blackberry smartphones.

“Its been a long time coming but we are out of beta and very pleased to announce the official launch of the Zoomthere WebApp Service.” said Christopher Boothroyd, CEO of Aftercad Software. “For the launch we’ve had to rapidly accelerate our developer program just to handle the volume of requests for high quality mobile sites and webapps. This is a fantastic new tool for Developers, Web Designers, Marketers and Agencies to help their clients embrace and engage the mobile bonanza and communicate effectively in the 21st century”

There’s a WebApp for that.

”We’ve all been media-trained that to get any sort of meaningful use out of our mobile devices that we have to go install an app from a platform vetted list of developers. With iPhone Safari and other webkit based mobile browsers, that is simply no longer true and most of the app functionality can be delivered simply with a link.“ said Boothroyd. “This means that companies looking to publish rich visual product and service information can write it once and deploy to any modern mobile device via the web. This is much, much more cost effective and removes all barriers to access. With a single link you can deliver everything your client needs to know, right there into their hand.”

“Our new GICdirect.com mobile webapp is a fabulous tool for communicating our financial products and services to exactly the right people.” said Michael Burden, CEO of Canada-wide service GICdirect.com. “This is an instant collateral delivery tool for us. As more people surf the web from smartphones, our products and services will be much easier to consume and purchase. This puts us head and shoulders over competition in the financial sector. The analytics is a nice touch as well.”

“For property developers and construction outfits like us, the Zoomthere service gives potential clients everything they need to know about a property including rich site and floor plan visuals that previously, just couldn’t make it to a mobile device.” said Gilles Brisebois, CEO of Ottawa’s prestigious LA Group. “Now, someone who is interested in one of our properties can review everything right there on the spot and when they call us, I have a highly qualified lead. There’s not too many marketing tools out there that can beat that.”

“In the restaurant business, this is a no-brainer. If someone wants to look at our menu or event listings from the convenience of a mobile device, they can.” said Neil Wyles, owner of Yaletown’s Hamilton Street Grill. “That coupled with the fact they can reserve a table right there on the mobile phone or easily share my entire mobile menu with a friend makes it a must have for any business owner. Adios Yellow Pages, hello Zoomthere!”

Aftercad Announces New Zoomthere Service for Advanced Mobile Property Maps Display and Mobile Web Applications

June 7th, 2010

Vancouver, BC – June 8th, 2010 – Aftercad is pleased to announce the closed beta launch of its new mobile maps and webapps service Zoomthere to deliver advanced 3D property map visualization capabilities to mobile devices.

“The Zoomthere mobile technology has been in development now for a while and with the exponential rise in mobile content consumption and the meteoric explosion of location based mobile applications, the timing is terrific for our clients” said Chris Boothroyd, CEO of Aftercad.

“Zoomthere adds value to mobile maps by allowing the realtime display of advanced visual property and community directory information right there in your hand. By enabling anyone with property or area based assets to display everything directly in Google Maps for the mobile browser, now we can ‘fill in the details between the streets’. Using our advanced patent pending display technologies, we can show all of the floors of a mall right there in your mobile browser and allow you to navigate through them in real time with the touch of your finger or even a thumb – no app install required.”

Aftercad has recently expanded its 3D web publishing efforts to include the new Zoomthere Mobile SaaS offering to get more detailed information of the physical environment into peoples hands via their mobile devices. The new Zoomthere service takes advantage of newer more powerful webkit based mobile browsers to deliver the property map data directly to the mobile user without having to install anything first. The Zoomthere Beta is being rolled out initially to a select number of commercial, residential and retail property managers and marketers.

“We’ve all been trained that to get any sort of meaningful use out of our mobile devices that we have to go install an app from a platform vetted list of developers. This runs completely counter to the open software-in-the-browser revolution we are seeing on the desktop. With iPhone Safari and other webkit based mobile browsers, that is simply no longer true and most of the app functionality can be delivered simply with a link. To wit, there are over 4500 webapps listed on the Apple website no-one even really knows about.” said Boothroyd. “This means that companies looking to publish rich visual information can write once and deploy to any modern mobile device via the web which is much, much more cost effective and removes all barriers to access. Point your iPhone, Android, Blackberry or Nokia device at www.zoomthere.com and see for yourself.”

Welcome to ZoomThere

March 15th, 2010

Zoomthere is the unique combination of a local directory and a highly detailed map that lets users casually browse & search local content from their desktop or mobile device. By putting all of the local directory content and details on the map: buildings, businesses, parks, attractions, shops, events, malls – the user can see everything immediately. Its like filling in all the missing street level details on Google Maps.

Zoomthere’s technology enables the massive aggregation of visual and informational map content in one spot. Instead of having to go to several different online maps and directories to get what they want, users can get it all in one map on Zoomthere. This positions Zoomthere’s Live Maps to be the ‘live feed community dashboard at a glance’ for high traffic locales.

Online maps are increasing in popularity and with more people going to web to find where to shop, your business needs to be up there. The problem with many online maps though is that they are poorly detailed and their usage is a mystery: What did people click on? Where are they from? Did they share my map with anyone? The Zoomthere Live Maps Service helps you publish rich detail, highly interactive Google Maps that are also trackable so you can see who is consuming your maps, where they are from, what they clicked on and many more interesting metrics.

Zoomthere Live Maps uses our own special patent pending publishing technologies to improve on what you would get from using images, PDFs, Flash or Google Maps alone. This ensures you are always getting the maximum value and usage of your online maps:

  • Mobile: Get your map on mobile devices like the iPhone or Android phone. Supports all mobile devices with a modern web browser, no apps to purchase or download!
  • Actions: Encourage people to directly email, phone, reserve right from the map. Live Maps help focus users to action from your map content.
  • Sharing: Our map short codes encourage people to easily share your map with others including email, SMS and social networking tools like Facebook and Twitter.
  • Convenience: People are busy, help them navigate to your location easily and precisely.
  • Details: Show people exactly whats going on at your location. Great for property site plans, indoor layouts and events.
  • Metrics: See how your map is being used and what people are doing with it. Regular monthly reports help you plan your content.
